Will your home pass the test?
Can you sell your home for top dollar right now or do you need to change a few things to make sure you get top dollar? Let's take the quiz to see if your home passes the sell for top dollar test.
When you walk up to the home, does it have curb appeal? Freshened up landscaping, maybe some flowers or a newly painted front door.
Have you done the three Ds? Declutter. Depersonalize. Deep Clean? And I mean real deep cleaning, baseboards, scuff marks, vents and more. Now, this is a big one, the smell test. I'm sure you don't realize this, but did you know most people have a smell to their home? Yes, a smell. I know it can be gross, but it's true. And people love their pets, but you may need to Febreeze like crazy to neutralize those odors. And good home-cooking may smell great to you, but that may not be someone else's idea of comfort.
Are the walls a neutral color? Brick red or brightly colored walls with mismatched paint does not quantify for selling for top dollar. Not in this market.
Is your home partially or fully staged with clean lines and open spaces to ensure it shows to the best of it's ability, or is your furniture large, rooms crowded and walls filled with years of family photos?
ALL this matters. So, I challenge you, take the quiz, on a scale from one to ten, are you ready to put your house on the market and sell for top dollar? Or do you need to make a few changes? Let me tell you, most of us have to make changes. If I were to sell my home right now, I'd have a long honey-do list.
Give me a call if you have any questions about the home selling process.
Have a great day.
